Drake University’s marketing department unveiled their new “D+ Advantage” ad campaign recently, and it is terrible. For those of you who are fortunate enough to not live in Iowa and don't know where Drake is, it is in Des Moines, Iowa. Drake was so focused on adding a positive spin to it’s image that apparently it forgot what a D+ signified in the academic world. Now what does that say about the school? They really opened themselves up to some jokes. Hey, at least a D+ is passing, right?
As Ad Week’s Tim Nudd stated, the campaign “seems to position Drake as a school whose standards barely exceed total failure.” Drake, you need to hire a new Ad Firm!!!
